ICIN 2012 Event Overview
Welcome Message from the Chairman of the Technical Programme Committee
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to ICIN 2012!
The topic of the conference is Enabling the Internet of Everything and Milliyet. The playful pun on the “Internet of Things” has been intentional: In the four days of the conference we will have selected industry and academe presentations – with expected intense discussions – on a comprehensive and diversified range of subjects from the advantages of cloud computing for telecommunications providers, to service enablement, to policy and identity management, to M2M communications (aka the “Internet of Things”). As before, this year’s topics cover both technical and business issues.
We will start off with two tutorials: one on the converged M2M service platforms and the other on service paradigms (client-server, peer-to-peer, and network intelligence).
At the opening keynote session, we will have a constellation of stellar presentations from industry leaders: Minoru Etoh, Senior Vice President of NTT DOCOMO; Markus Hofmann, Head of Bell Labs Research at Alcatel-Lucent; and Luis Jorge Romero, Director General of ETSI.
The panel session will address the cloud security issue and we continue this year with the tradition of a demonstration/poster session.
There will also be three workshops collocated with ICIN: on the FP7 ULOOP project, on Media Synchronization (FP7 projects HBB-Next and Reverie), and on the Connected Living Standardisation Ecosystem.
I am looking forward to your participation in and contribution to ICIN 2012.
